Illinois Lottery: More Than $9 Million in Unclaimed Prizes

Nine Illinois Lottery prizes of $100,000 or more are still waiting to be claimed, totaling more than $9 million. The largest is a $7,400,002 Lotto prize from an October 2026 drawing, purchased in Chicago.

The Illinois Lottery publishes the full list of unclaimed jackpot and daily-game prizes and reminds players to check old tickets before they expire. Draw-game prizes must be claimed within one year of the drawing date.

Where the Winning Tickets Were Sold

The unclaimed tickets were purchased at retailers across Chicago, the suburbs and downstate Illinois. The list below reflects the Lottery’s current unclaimed-prize page.

How to Claim an Illinois Lottery Prize

Sign the back of a winning retail ticket immediately, keep it in a safe place and use only one claim method. Claim procedures depend on the prize amount and whether the ticket was bought online or in person. Full instructions are available on the Lottery’s “When You Win” page.

Claim Deadlines and Online Wins

Mega Millions, Powerball, Lotto, Lucky Day Lotto, Pick 3, Pick 4 and Fast Play prizes must be claimed within one year after the drawing. Instant-ticket prizes generally expire one year after the game’s announced end date. The winner’s handbook explains the rules in more detail.

Online winnings of $600 or less are automatically added to an Illinois Lottery account, unless the balance would exceed $2,000; the excess is sent by check. Online winnings above $600 must be processed through a Claim Center or by mail. Players can submit eligible claims through the Illinois Lottery e-Claim portal.
